Families & Carers

Blackdown Stay & Play Hub

Blackdown Stay & Play Hub is a weekly play and activity session for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers, their parents, grandparents and carers. These weekly sessions give parents/carers the opportunity to engage with their children and help them to develop new skills through play.

The children are free to move around the activities as they choose and there is always plenty on offer to keep them interested; arts & crafts, messy play, sensory play, music & singing, snacks & story time.

There is a dedicated baby area and we welcome new mums to come along and meet other parents. Peta, an experienced baby massage instructor, is on hand to share some baby massage techniques for you and your baby to enjoy.  We have baby weigh facilities at the centre, in addition to Thursday afternoons these are available for self-weigh Monday – Friday 10am – 12pm.

Blackdown Stay & Play Hub runs every Thursday afternoon from 1.30pm – 3pm. In the holidays, school aged brothers and sisters are welcome to join their younger siblings.  There is no need to book, no weekly commitment, just drop-in when you can. We suggest a weekly donation of £1.50 for one child and 50p per additional child to help us to cover costs.

Do you care for someone?

The Phoenix Group offers an opportunity for carers to talk about their concerns, to ask questions and to find out what other services and support may be available to them.  The Phoenix Group offers you a chance to talk to other people who may be in similar situation, personal support, social activities, helpful advice and the opportunity to have some fun.
